About us
FAU (Free Workers Union) is a grassroots democratic union. We are all regular members with equal votes if it comes to make a decision. The different tasks are shared out to all of us and from time to time we switch the tasks, so everyone gets to get a chance to lern to deal with those tasks. What makes us strong isn't the money of our members, but their knowledge and abilitys. A part from volountarly members fees, we make our money through organising concerts and selling books. We are lively and open: to help each other and to have fun with each other is very important for us.
We try to help, where it is urgent: In the small scale within the companys - if the boss doesn't pay the salaries correctly, doesn't allow overtime or tries somehow else to cheat you. Or if work costs you too much energy and doesn't get you enough. We want to motivate everyone to improve their situation with courage and creativity. We can council you or get you the consultant you may need. We can build up pressure from the outside or help you and your co-workers to form a grassroots union inside your company. We can provide you material, ideas, know-how and we can help you also with our members. Just get in touch with us and we will see together, what we will do.
